Sometimes places, or memories of places, just capture you, your soul, without any explanation. Perhaps it is the nostalgia or the time away, but I have a memory of the mountains from above Montreux that always captivated me. Every time I saw it, hiked the area, looked on from above in the train, it just had my heart and soul. I miss it.

This painting is titled Memories and Legends. In part it is based on these memories of Switzerland. But it is also titled Legends. My dear friend from the Faroe Islands shares incredible stories and pictures of her home, one in particular that partially inspired this painting. One day I will travel to visit myself. And then, my memories and legends will become one.
