From the outside, our life in Switzerland looked picturesque. The reality however is that it was full of so much uncertainty and instability. Stress with immigration, visas, work permits. Language barriers, cultural differences, financial struggles. Real life juxtaposed against perhaps the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen, let alone lived in, in my entire life. Running has been and continues to be therapeutic for me. My runs along the lake from our apartment in St. Prex spoke to me. Somehow, in those most difficult and darkest moments, light and hope shone through, leading to beauty. Redemption. Grace. Sustenance. Joy.
